History: wiki link for the show
Joo Byung-hee is a three time loser from a broken family cursed with good looks, the kind of personality that gets distracted by any bit of string in his path, and the talents that could propel him into the spotlight. His mother is a vague figure of his past, having passed away when he was young. His father is a deadbeat dad who only crawls out of a bottle long enough to find his way into another bottle. Byung-hee was raised more by his grandmother than his parents, and even then he never spent too much time with her. Instead, he lived with Kwon Ji-hyuk, who also comes from a broken family and, like him, was basically raising himself.
Their friendship started most likely because while Byung-hee is a crazy as crazy can be, Ji-hyuk was a bit more focused and serious, thus causing a lot of personality clashes between them while on the school playgrounds. It was inevitable that they end up as friends, and that they attracted others like them - Do-il, Hyun-soo, Kyung-jong, and Ha-jin. After banging around together in various activities, the six guys decided to form the band Eye Candy.
To be expected, they sucked at first. They really, really sucked. But there were hints of the natural talent hidden inside of them so when they finally got their stuff together, they didn't so much suck as they did before. They also got a following among the local girls and rose up in the school's informal ranks to pretty much lord over the other students thanks to a combination of good looks, fighting skills and able to bring all the girls into the house during a band performance.
Life for Byung-hee pretty much revolved around his friends and his music and the occasional fight with other gangs in his school. He also tried to avoid his homeroom teacher, especially after he was found in his teacher's daughter's bed. But then his school was forced to shut down and he and his band found themselves getting transferred to a different school, one that actually expected the gang to study. Finding the idea ridiculous, Byung-hee told his friends that it would be better if they just quit and went into music seriously. He even went as far at take the money for school uniforms and put it down on a drum set for Do-il. But then they had a run in with the bodyguards for another high school band - this one called Strawberry Fields. And while they were good in a fight with people their age, Eye Candy was still young and was no match against seasoned bodyguards.
Finding out that Strawberry Fields' leader was also a friend of the girl he decided was his muse, Byung-hee got his band together and they stormed their new high school, making comments about how nice and clean and pretty it was and pretty much acted like their usual selves. This landed them into the presence of the school's principal, which Byung-hee used as a way to find out whether the bodyguards of the night before were hanging around the members of Strawberry Fields. This led to Eye Candy finding the other band and teaching them a lesson about fighting.
Of course, this just made things worse between the two groups, not that Byung-hee cared. He was more interested in getting to know his muse, even by making one of the weakest members of the Strawberry fans buy her all sorts of food in hope she would talk to him more. He then wandered about until he found the practice room, which led to another clash between him and the members of Strawberry Fields. They propose a contest to see which band the students liked better and thus becoming the king band of the school, after which Byung-hee went to crush some more on his muse.
A band contest meant Eye Candy needed to get another drum kit and uniforms. First they scammed, played and worked a little to get money for new uniforms. They were still stuck about the drum kit when one of the members of Strawberry Fields pulled Byung-hee aside and told him that he would pay for a new kit. Byung-hee knew it was possibly a trap but he went anyways in hope that the guy was going to play fair. He of course doesn't. Struck from behind by a metal pipe, Byung-hee tried to avoid the rest of the gang while attempting to get a hold of his gang. They do finally find him, but dazed and bleeding from his head wound, Byung-hee wandered into the street and was hit by a truck.
Personality:
To describe him in one word, Byung-hee is a wacko. He is completely off the wall, gone into the deep end, came from planet Bizzaro and pretty much just doesn't seem normal. He talks in nonsense, sees the world in a cheery manner even when laying in a gutter bleeding slowly after getting hit by a bunch of people with bricks for hands, and just enjoys life to the fullest.
First impressions usually are the most true when it comes to him. His weird way of speaking whatever is on his mind combined with the 'oh shiny' attention span is all there is to him, or at least all there is on a day-to-day basis. It's not because he's crazy. It's because he is a free spirit. He refuses to become like all the other people around him. He does not want to fit in and be another drone in a world full of droning people that live their lives just like their neighbors. He wants to have the freedom to express himself in whatever way he wishes, from his habit of wearing make-up to his gaudy jewelry to his music.
Music is one of the few things that Byung-hee gets serious about. He doesn't care about his education or his manners, but music is where his brilliance shines through. He is a great songwriter, having a natural talent for song composition as well as playing the guitar and keyboards and singing. This focus carries over to the stage, where he displays a kind of charm and charisma that brings the girls of all ages to the show. It might things a little awkward especially when some of the girls are still in elementary school, but hey, he isn't one to judge that.
No, what he dislikes are people that doesn't treat him like a person. He doesn't care about the name calling and being considered a thug; in fact when a student remarked that he needs to follow the rules, he replied that he wouldn't be much of a thug if he did that. He is actually proud of being different from others, making a point to be just as wild and crazy as he wants to be especially when faced with people that seemed to be stuck trying to be what society wants them to be. Sure people have problems, but problems shouldn't be used as a reason to not try to move on.
It might be one of his many many weak points, but he really doesn't pay attention to the struggles of those around him unless they happened to be a member of his band. It isn't that he doesn't care, it's just that there is so much crap in the world that he finds most problems and difficulties just not worth the bother. It may come off as being a little crass or mean, but he really doesn't have the time for worrying about too many other people. Besides, he is far more busy with tackling the twists and turns and sparks that are inside his mind to really see the depressing side of the world around him. Which might make him seem a bit absentminded or even callous, but he really just lived in his own world, doing his own thing and only touching base with those that he considered friends.
Abilities:
Byung-hee is just your average teenage delinquent with a side order of dramallama and a case of sheer 'let's see what happens when I hit this guy with my amp' madness. In other words, outside of his skills with the guitar and singing and fighting and those cold cold looks, he doesn't have any special super powers or mutant abilities and is a bit of a wishy-washy kind of derp that somehow is still a genius in certain select moments of clarity. His sole purpose is to confuse, annoy and downright get into everyone's face and then skip away with a pretty lady and a new guitar. Well... okay the lady might be pushing it. He's got the luck of a cat
Strengths: Spontaneous | Lucky | Protective | Loyal | Creative
Weaknesses: Rough | Crude | Unfocused | Rebellious | Temperamental
God/Shinki: Shinki
Why?:
He really isn't that bad of a guy for the most part, even if he is always willing to throw himself into any wild ride that might give him some kind of edge. He'd make a good companion to the right god, even if he might not be the best at accepting heavy discipline or even extreme criticisms, he is still stubborn enough and lucky enough to fight off all comers with a smirk on his face. With the memloss coming from being a shinki, he would at least not be as stubborn and hotheaded as he would normally be since his reasons are effectively gone from his mind.
Cause Of Death:
After getting hit in the head with a steel bat, he stumbled out into oncoming traffic and was killed by a speeding truck.
Vessel:
Name Location: index finger of his right hand underneath that really gaudy huge
Power:
Enhanced Sight:
A person with this ability has enhanced vision, allowing them to see with amazing clarity/detail, distance, or color, perhaps even in a different spectrum of light or into another dimension. Byung-hee's version will probably give people the ability to see with extremely good clarity/detail so they can spot tiny weak points or hidden clues better.
